Gonzalo Higuain is set to replace Alvaro Morata as Chelsea’s main centre-forward over the coming days. According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have agreed a deal with Juventus to sign the Argentine forward on loan until the end of the season. The Blues will then have an option to extend the loan for a further 12 months, subject to certain conditions, as well as the option to buy the 31-year-old outright. Higuain has spent the past few months on loan at AC Milan but has struggled for form and goals with the Rossoneri. In 22 games, Higuain has managed to score just eight goals - a poor return by his standards. However, the South American forward was prolific under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli, where he scored a remarkable 38 goals in 42 games during his one season with the current Chelsea boss. It’s understood that Sarri is the man behind Chelsea’s pursuit of Higuain. Curiously, it’s claimed the Blues’ chief-executive Marina Granovskaia remains unconvinced that the well-travelled forward is the answer to the club's striker problems. Chelsea fans are intrigued by the thought of Higuain leading the line for their team. Few of them will be disappointed to hear that Morata will be moved on to Atletico Madrid. While we all know about Higuain’s ability inside the box, Chelsea fans might be surprised to discover just how good the Argentine’s hold-up play and playmaking ability is. A video is currently doing the rounds of Higuain’s most underrated quality as a centre-forward and Chelsea supporters will surely be even more excited about his arrival once they watch it. The footage has obviously been sped up quite a bit, but it’s clear that he’s so much more than just a goalscorer. It will be fascinating to see how he fares in the Premier League. If he can replicate the moments shown in the video - and score a few goals, too - it won’t take long for the Stamford Bridge faithful to fall in love with him. Higuain has averaged around a goal every other game during his career. In 578 games for his club, he’s banged in an impressive 290 goals. He has also netted 31 games in 75 appearances for Argentina.
