Arsenal are well and truly back in the race for a top-four spot after their 2-0 victory over Chelsea on Saturday evening. Goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny sealed the win that put them within three points of their London rivals. And it was a performance that was incomparable to last week, where Arsenal fell to a disappointing 1-0 loss to West Ham. But Arsenal fans shouldn’t be too surprised at the lack of consistency this term. Unai Emery has the difficult job of leading Arsenal into the post-Arsene Wenger era at the Emirates and there was always going to be plenty of setbacks on the way. The same can be said for Mauricio Sarri - who is trying to impose his ‘Sarri-ball’ style at Chelsea. But when Emery and Sarri went head-to-head on Saturday, there was only one winner. And a tactical analysis video has emerged that clearly shows how Emery masterminded the important victory. The video shows how Arsenal highlighted Jorginho as the key to ‘Sarri-ball’ so used Aaron Ramsey to mark him and cut off his passing lanes. Chelsea then struggled to build up their attacks from defence and had to resort to playing long balls. The video goes on to explain how Lacazette constantly exploited the space between Marcos Alonso - who likes to get forward - and David Luiz. Meanwhile, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pushed Cesar Azplicueta narrow to create space for the advancing Sead Kolasinac. TACTICAL ANALYSIS OF ARSENAL 2-0 CHELSEA Take a look at the video in full: The way Ramsey restricted Jorginho is something that many opponents will no doubt be looking at in the future. And Jose Mourinho also pointed out that tactic after the match. "If you stop Jorginho playing, do you stop Chelsea playing?" Richard Keys asked Mourinho on beIN SPORTS. "I'm not saying that Chelsea is an easy team to play against, but it's an easy team to analyse. You know their principles and their fundamental situations,” the Portuguese manager replied. "You [make things tough] for Chelsea to build in the first phase. If you close the left side with David [Luiz] and Marcos Alonso and give the ball to the right, it's hard for them. [N'Golo] Kante is playing in a position where he's making more runs forwards than to stay in the build-up for the first phase. "I think he (Kante) can play everywhere. He has the qualities to be a box-to-box [player], he's scoring more goals than ever. "With Antonio Conte he was playing a more defensive position because they were playing only with two in [midfield]. But now they play with three. "Sarri, the same way he was doing with Jorginho at Napoli, likes him to drop in between the centre-backs, but today Ramsey is playing in that position to try to stop him. "I remember when I played against them (for Manchester United) and we had some stats before the game where Jorginho was in the Premier League with more touches."If he's the player with more touches, you have to make him the player with less touches."
