That is the verdict of ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley. Higuain has been linked with a January switch to Stamford Bridge as Maurizio Sarri looks to add firepower to his strike force. His agent and brother Nicolas has been in London to discuss a possible move to the Blues. The Argentina international is currently on loan at AC Milan from Juventus, with Milan obligated to sign the 31-year-old permanently in the summer. However, reports claim a similar deal could be sorted which sees Chelsea take on that obligation instead. Chelsea boss Sarri knows Higuain well from their time at Napoli where the striker scored 38 times in 42 games in one season under the Italian. Burley says Higuain will bring guaranteed goals to Chelsea despite scoring just six times in 15 Serie A games this season. And he reckons Abramovich will be wary of Arsenal and Manchester United breathing down their necks in the table, so would sanction a move for the experienced frontman. “Well it’s not a gamble with him,” Burley said. “Financially it’s got implications [of being a gamble] but it’s not a gamble on the field. “They’ve got to weigh up the financial implications with the potential of not getting in the top four. “He’s playing in a pretty average Serie A side that’s been up and down, down more often than up. “He’d get way more chances in the Premier League at Chelsea. “I don’t think Abramovich would mind throwing the money at it if he thinks he’s going to get in the top four. “With United pushing and Arsenal having a decent season, when you’ve got nobody putting the ball in the back of the net, that’s a problem. Big problem.”
