Gonzalo Higuain might well be on loan at AC Milan at the moment but Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is hoping to sign him on a permanent deal from Juventus. The 31-year-old has spent the majority of his career in Spain and Italy, becoming Sarri's number one striker and netting 36 league goals in the 2015/16 for him at Napoli. The Blues have something of an issue up front. Sarri is moving away from using Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata, while Eden Hazard has become the false nine for the Italian. Higuain has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with Morata potentially going back to Juventus in the other direction and making his return to the Allianz Stadium. But what has to happen for the deal to go through? Morata agrees to move on That is going to be the first sticking point, whether or not the former club record signing is ready to leave west London and move back to Italy. The 26-year-old has never fully settled at the club, despite a decent start to life in the Premier, 2018 has been something of a disaster at times and he has never hit the heights that Chelsea would have wanted. There is still time for him to reach his potential, but a lot of fans have lost patience while it looks like Sarri is ready to move on from him, despite him having a contract that runs until the summer of 2022. But at the end of the day the Blues need to have his wages off their books, around £155,000 per week, to make way for Higuain's which will no doubt be large as well. Beat AC Milan to Higuain's signature Higuain is currently on loan at AC Milan for the 2018/19 campaign and as part of that deal they have the option of signing the Argentine should they want to. At the moment the striker has netted five times in Serie A, the same as Morata has netted in the Premier League so far, while he has also bagged another two in the Europa League, but not enough to stop Milan from being knocked out in the group stages. It remains to be seen whether or not the Italian side are willing to sign him for the long term or whether the player himself wants to try the new challenge of the Premier League. A move to England worked for Zlatan Ibrahimovic when he made the move over to Manchester United late in his career, netting 17 Premier League goals. Chelsea would love a similar return should Higuain make the switch. Higuain accepts Chelsea's Over 30 policy Chelsea are well-known for their policy of not giving over 30 players more than a one-year deal. Olivier Giroud was given 18 months last January to fulfill the contract that he had at Arsenal. It is something that is often a sticking point for Chelsea when it comes to renewing their own deals, like Cesc Fabregas and David Luiz who are hoping for more years to be put on their contracts. The Argentine himself has a contract with Juventus that runs out at the end of the 2021 season, so he would have to accept a shorter deal unless Chelsea break their policy for him, which they were unwilling to do
