Cesc Fabregas played quite possibly his last ever game in English football on Saturday afternoon in Chelsea's comfortable 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest. The 31-year-old started off at Barcelona before moving to Arsenal in 2003 and making over 200 league appearances for the Gunners. From there he returned to his beloved Barca for three seasons before returning to the Premier League with Chelsea in 2014. The Spanish international has made 138 league appearances for the Blues but had fallen out of favour with current boss Maurizio Sarri, with Fabregas publicly saying he would not only like more minutes but to play in a more advanced position. This has not come to fruition for the former Gunner and has led to ex-Arsenal team-mate and current Monaco manager Thierry Henry swooping in and giving Fabregas an escape route. Match of the Day host Gary Lineker had his say on the Spaniard's time in England and simply could not have put it any better. The former Tottenham and Barcelona striker has a clear admiration for what Fabregas has done for English football and his opinion certainly carries some weight. Fans from both Arsenal and Chelsea were quick to agree with Lineker and voice their opinions on the midfielder, proving that a player can move to both sides of London and remain a hero. Fabregas reflected on his own glittering career in his post-match interview. "Time flies," said Fabregas per The Daily Mail. "It feels like last week that I started playing professionally and now it's more than 15 years. "It goes so fast and you have to be ready every three days, for the criticism with everyone saying how good you are and the ups and downs." "It feels like growing older it never goes away it is technique. Physicality goes away. Technicality stays with you." Despite the momentous occasion, Fabregas managed to miss a penalty against Forest but refused to let this ruin the moment. "I saw the 'keeper going down in the middle of the run and I thought I had it. It was unfortunate. The day I got 100 caps for Spain I also missed a penalty, so it was destiny." With over 500 apperances in England he is without a doubt a Premier League legend. Henry will be hoping that Fabregas can use all of his ability and experience to help Monaco get out of their current predicament. The French side are currently 19th in Ligue 1 with a measly 13 points from 18 games.
